Perry County Greenway, Parks, and Recreation Plan Development

A greenway, parks, recreation, and open space plan is being developed for Perry County.  Many groups (including SCCA) are involved in the plan development.  Currently, the goals of the plan, as well as challenges and a list of the many opportunities Perry County has to offer, are included in the attached minutes from the October meeting.

The committee is seeking public input on the plan.  The following meetings are scheduled for 7:00PM to discuss the new plan:

March 4, 2010 – Perry West meeting located at the DCNR building, west of Blain

March 11, 2010 – Perry Southeast meeting located at the Penn Township Building

SCCA Members and Community Meeting – March 11, 2010

Meetings are generally held the third Monday of each month (November is an exception due to hunting season).  Meetings usually involve a summary of recent past events and upcoming events that require some volunteers, as well as ideas for newsletters, grants, educational workshops, working with school districts and community partners, and much more!  Meetings are held in the Carroll Township Municipal Building at 50 Rambo Hill Road in Shermans Dale from 7PM – 8PM.  Members and non-members invited to attend.

Shermans Creek Clean-Up – June 5, 2010

Join us for our annual clean up on Shermans Creek.  The clean up is done primarily by canoe, but we also need help on land.  If you do not own a canoe, SCCA will provide one to all of those who sign up ahead of time.  Mark your Calendars!  (Rain Date – June 12, 2010)
